Erika Hibon is an architect, artist, and musician who explores the human voice and visual perception as interphases between the environment and the human mind.

After years dedicated to vocal research and painting, the role of photography in relation to painting organically led her to turn gaze to eye movement and its relation to human thought processing and perception. She began producing and documenting objects while manipulating layers, patterns, color, composition, and sound.

Inspired by the accelerating role of new technologies in the evolution of human consciousness, her latest works look into saccadic eye movements and human patterns of fixation while observing a moving or still image.

Currently based in Peru, she is working on Regeneration, a series of audiovisual pieces and sculptures that examine the language of nature; in which patterns, colors, and movements are inspired by Amazonian cosmology and its contrasting relationship to the environmental crisis and outdated notions of development.

Hibon is also a voice teacher and mentor to artists and performers.
